Job Summary

We are seeking a Radiology Tech PRN to join our team. As a Radiology Tech PRN, you will be responsible for operating x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body. You will also perform x-ray therapy on patients under the supervision of a Radiologist and may administer barium salts or other chemical mixtures. You will operate stationary equipment and/or portable equipment used in the Emergency Department, Operating Room, and at patient bedside. You will take pictures and develop film, utilizing knowledge of age-specific needs of patients in performance of duties and responsibilities. You will orient and mentor new staff members, practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff, and provide a safe environment for administering contrast material. You will follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Responsibilities
  • Operate x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body.
  • Perform x-ray therapy on patients under the supervision of a Radiologist.
  • May administer barium salts or other chemical mixtures.
  • Operate stationary equipment and/or portable equipment used in the Emergency Department, Operating Room, and at patient bedside.
  • Take pictures and develop film.
  • Utilize knowledge of age-specific needs of patients in performance of duties and responsibilities.
  • Orient and mentor new staff members.

Requirements
  • Current state licensure or permit to practice medical imagining.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
