WVU Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist

Welcome to West Virginia University Hospital, Inc. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Specialist.
This is a unique opportunity to work with cardiac patients and help them achieve their exercise goals. As a Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing and evaluating exercise programs for patients in all phases of cardiac rehabilitation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing care and education to patients, including the implementation and evaluation of exercise programs.
- Working collaboratively with the Exercise Physiologist, Cardiac Rehab RN, and Physical Therapist to ensure services are consistent with planned surgical interventions and pre and post op care.
- Assisting with insurance authorization, scheduling, and billing to carry out patients' established plans of care.
- Completing all required feedback and communication to patient and healthcare team, including EMR documentation and reports.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science and be certified in Basic Life Support. A Certified Exercise Specialist by The American College of Sports Medicine or its equivalent is preferred.
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication skills, knowledge in working with patients at risk for or with known cardiopulmonary disease, and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
