Key Responsibilities

This is a salaried position starting between $40,000 and $45,000/year depending on experience.

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the deli, meat, produce, and freezer departments, ensuring all product is stocked and rotated properly and air stock is being maintained.

Supervise and work together with deli staff to assure that shelves are stocked and merchandise is rotated.

Develop and implement schedules, monitor performance, and recommend discipline as necessary.

Train employees in job responsibilities and safe operating procedures, and interview and recommend candidates for hire.

Ensure employees are performing proper inspections to meet HACCP regulations and conduct periodic HACCP audits.

Review inventory for product rotation on a daily basis to prevent shrinkage and damages.

Ensure shelf pricing is correct and reflects the most recent pricing and market conditions.

Supervise the receiving of all deli products and ensure proper paperwork is completed.

Maintain accurate computer inventory levels by performing physical inventories and making adjustments as necessary.

Maintain refrigerated equipment and ensure maintenance contracts and schedules are followed.

Supervise the ordering of deli products from vendors to ensure competitive pricing and minimal shrink due to spoilage.

Ensure all employees in the department can operate equipment such as the Toledo scale and Dennison label machine.

Coordinate the storage of pallets in the racks with proper block and date tags.

Follow a regular maintenance schedule to maintain the cleanliness of the area.

Requirements
  • Must pass a drug screen
  • Can lift 50 lbs
  • Must be at least 18+ years old

Bachelor's Degree or high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years experience in customer service.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, mass, and volume.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.

Computer literacy.
