Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:
We are in search of a skilled Aircraft Maintenance Specialist to become a vital member of our team, concentrating on the F-35 aircraft.

This role will act as a technical authority on all aspects of maintenance operations for the F-35 airframe, as part of a Rapid Response Team aimed at supporting urgent operational needs globally.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Extensive travel (over 50% travel), often on very short notice, as maintenance tasks arise. This position is designed to assist our numerous F-35 clients/partners in swiftly and effectively restoring aircraft to a flight-ready state and enhancing aircraft availability across various operations.
  • The incumbent must demonstrate initiative, possess the ability to make prompt decisions, and be eager to learn all aspects of the comprehensive maintenance approach for the F-35 aircraft. When not traveling, this role will integrate into the broader Interim Contractor Support (ICS) framework at an established F-35 location.
  • Candidates must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a flight line driver's competency card.

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive motions, work overhead, and utilize hands for grasping, handling, and/or feeling, as well as reaching with hands and arms.

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist.

  • Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that necessitates special access and an Interim clearance prior to commencement, with the requirement to maintain an Interim/Secret clearance throughout the employment period.

Essential Qualifications


Must possess a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in F-35 maintenance, including familiarity with the Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS), encompassing Anomaly Fault Resolution System, Customer Relationship Management, Joint Technical Data Navigation, Portable Maintenance Aid (PMA)/Maintenance Vehicle Interface (MVI) activities, Configuration Management, and supply chain management processes.

A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in a 5 or 7-skill level USAF AFSC, CDI/CDQAR Navy NEC, or CDI/CDQAR United States Marine Corps, or equivalent experience on Fighter Attack Aircraft is required.


Knowledge of Safety, Tool Control, Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Supply, Hazardous Material (HAZMAT), Quality, and Security programs is essential.

Willingness to accommodate a demanding travel schedule with minimal notice (over 50% travel) is necessary.

Preferred Skills

An FAA Aircraft and Power Plant Mechanic license is advantageous.

Proficiency with Lockheed Martin's F-35 Nose-to-Tail maintenance approach is preferred.

Experience in Low Observable/Structures Maintenance.

Experience in Avionics Systems Maintenance.
Experience in Weapons/Egress Systems Maintenance.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week while others may be condensed.
