Service Mechanic

About the Role:

This position is part of the aircraft maintenance team supporting the JSF program at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The successful candidate will work in a team environment maintaining F-35 aircraft, performing tasks such as aircraft inspection, servicing, repair, overhaul, modification, fabrication, and weapon loading as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance tasks on F-35 aircraft, including inspection, servicing, repair, overhaul, modification, fabrication, and weapon loading.
  • Work in a team environment to maintain F-35 aircraft and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and instructions.
  • Experience with safety, tool control, FOD, supply, HAZMAT, training, quality, and security programs.
  • Experience with maintenance documentation systems, such as electronic maintenance instructions and aircraft forms documentation.

Requirements:

  • Must have been previously awarded a 5 or 7 skill level USAF AFSC, Navy NEC, or Marine MOS discipline rating in maintenance.
  • Experience with reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and instructions.
  • Experience with safety, tool control, FOD, supply, HAZMAT, training, quality, and security programs.
  • Experience with maintenance documentation systems, such as electronic maintenance instructions and aircraft forms documentation.

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • F-35 maintenance experience.
  • Flight test experience.
  • Composite repair experience.
  • Low observable coating application experience.
  • Airframe and power-plant license.
  • Weapon loading experience.
  • Metal fabrication experience, including precision machining.
  • Enhanced structural repair experience.
  • Able to conduct on-the-job training as required on multiple aircraft systems.
  • Ejection seat experience.
