F-35 Aircraft Quality Assurance Inspector

Overview:
Must possess or be eligible to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance. This role is integral to the Quality Assurance Support Team within the F-35 Flight Test Program and involves conducting inspections on aircraft and associated test equipment. Candidates should have experience in both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including component removal and replacement, as well as executing Time Compliance Technical Directives (TCTDs) and aircraft modifications. Responsibilities also encompass verifying fault isolation, troubleshooting, and inspecting repairs of system failures identified during operational checks related to modifications and restoring aircraft to a flyable state post-maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize various test equipment and interpret wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals.
- Train and assist in multiple disciplines as required.
- Read and interpret engineering documentation, including technical manuals and structure repair manuals, and understand symbols, flags, and general notes.
- Identify aircraft locations based on engineering documentation and technical orders.
- Conduct process compliance audits.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, including overhead work, grasping, handling, and reaching. Candidates must be capable of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, and twisting, with or without fall protection devices.
Proficiency in using computer systems such as ALIS, WISE, and JTD is essential.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with engineering drawings, blueprints, and maintenance instructions.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in aircraft maintenance.
- Experience in conducting in-process verification inspections.
- Experience with military aviation flight line operations.
- Prior flight line experience on fighter aircraft.
- Possession of a 7 Skill level or higher USAF AFSC, Navy/Marine NEC, QAR CDI, or an equivalent Airframe and Power Plant, FAA certificate.
- Previous involvement in a Flight Test operation.
- Familiarity with aircraft systems, associated support and test equipment, and on/off aircraft inspections.
- Specific experience in Flight Test operations is highly desirable.
- Basic knowledge of Low Observable coating application, flight test instrumentation, and weapons loading/unloading.
- Experience with aircraft modifications is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of Maintenance Information Systems, including Electronic Maintenance Instructions, Aircraft Forms Documentation, and Supply Chain Management.
- Understanding of Tool Control, FOD, Supply, HAZMAT, Training, Quality, and Security programs.
- Fluent or working knowledge of the F-35 ALIS system is highly desirable.
Work Environment:
This position requires onsite full-time work at a designated facility. Lockheed Martin offers a variety of flexible work schedules, including standard 40-hour weeks and condensed schedules, providing employees with additional time away from the office.
