The Quality Assurance Inspector I/II is integral to maintaining product excellence by evaluating materials for compliance with engineering specifications and standards. This role encompasses the examination and testing of products, materials, and components to ensure they align with established quality benchmarks. Key responsibilities include performing visual assessments, measurements, and functional evaluations utilizing various tools and equipment.

  • Defect Analysis: Contribute to root cause analysis for defects and nonconformities, aiding in the formulation and execution of corrective measures.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all inspection instruments and tools are well-maintained, calibrated, and operational.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Uphold adherence to all safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Reporting: Create, document, and disseminate comprehensive inspection reports and summaries as required.
  • Communication: Clearly convey inspection outcomes and quality concerns to relevant stakeholders, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Inspection Techniques: Employ suitable inspection devices, drawings, and methodologies to thoroughly assess parts and materials.
  • Documentation: Precisely record the status of materials, categorizing them as accepted, reworked, or rejected.
  • Material Flow Management: Collaborate with operations personnel to prioritize and manage the inspection process flow.
  • Nonconformance Handling: Execute transactions for nonconforming materials within the applicable system.
  • Productivity Standards: Consistently achieve established productivity targets and expectations.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read, comprehend, and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Standard Work Execution: Effectively and consistently execute assigned Standard Work procedures.
  • Independence: Demonstrate the capability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Attendance: Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Overtime Flexibility: Be willing and able to work overtime as necessary to meet operational demands.


Job Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred in a related field such as Quality Assurance, Engineering, or Manufacturing Technology.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) or other relevant certifications are highly regarded.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in a quality inspection or related role within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using various inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and familiar with inspection techniques and procedures.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of industry standards and regulations pertinent to quality assurance (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Blueprint Skills: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Software Skills: Familiarity with quality management software and basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, capable of making logical decisions and efficiently solving basic problems.
