Job Title: IT Quality Analyst/Tester

At the State of Minnesota, we are committed to delivering high-quality services to our citizens. As an IT Quality Analyst/Tester, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our information systems and software applications.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Quality Analyst/Tester to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing and quality assurance of our software applications and systems. You will work closely with our development team to identify and resolve defects, and ensure that our software meets the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test and quality assure software applications and systems
  • Identify and resolve defects in software applications and systems
  • Work closely with development team to ensure software meets quality standards
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and other relevant project deliverables
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide actionable recommendations and solutions
  • Perform risk analysis to identify potential risks and mitigate them
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of IT quality assurance experience
  • Proven experience and understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) stages
  • Demonstrated experience in manual testing of Custom Web Applications and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products
  • Experience in diverse test types, including unit, functionality, integration, system, regression, performance, ETL, accessibility, and user acceptance testing
  • Proven ability to articulate testing results, issues, bugs, and requirements effectively
  • Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • 5 years' experience manually testing front end and back end for software, web applications and database driven solutions
  • Demonstrated experience testing cloud-based applications and environments
  • Ability to create comprehensive and business-relevant Software Verification Test Plans, Test Cases, and other relevant project deliverables
  • Able to define problems as they arise, analyze complex issues, and work collaboratively with cross functional teams to provide actionable recommendations and solutions
