About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Public Safety Liaison to join our team at Lycoming College. As a key member of our Public Safety team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to our campus community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to Emergencies: Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, including alarms, emergencies, and other incidents.
  • Communicate with the Campus Community: Communicate effectively and respectfully with all members of the campus community, including students, faculty, and staff.
  • Manage Lost and Found Property: Accept and return lost and found property according to established policies and procedures.
  • Complete Communication Logs: Complete communication logs, including radio/telephone logs and vehicle use logs.
  • Distribute Keys: Distribute keys and return them to the key cabinet.
  • De-escalate Difficult Situations: De-escalate difficult situations by remaining calm, being empathetic, and maintaining impulse control.
  • Assist Emergency Services: Assist local law enforcement, fire, and other emergency service agencies as requested.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience and Qualifications:
    • Computer Skills: Essential computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word and experience using email and the internet.
    • Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service and interpersonal/communications skills to respond to sensitive situations with diplomacy and tact.
    • Written Communication Skills: Strong written communication skills to effectively communicate and document required reports.
