Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective organizing strategies to engage workers and community members in the union's mission and goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with worker leaders, community allies, and other stakeholders to advance the union's interests.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for organizing and develop targeted campaigns to achieve union goals.
  • Lead organizing meetings and trainings to educate workers and community members on union principles and practices.
  • Collaborate with other union staff and members to develop and implement comprehensive organizing plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting of work to the Organizing Director and other relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Commitment to trade union principles and values.
  • Proven experience in organizing, community engagement, and leadership development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of workers and community members.
  • Ability to analyze complex challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and self-management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and regulations, as well as relevant state or federal labor practices.
  • Proficiency in field database systems and other relevant technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and mutual support.
Working Conditions

This is a salaried position that requires long and irregular hours, frequent travel, and occasional overnight stays. A valid driver's license and a vehicle are required. Previous experience in union, community, or political leadership is highly desirable.
