Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at El Paso Children's Hospital. As a Pediatric Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care to our young patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their physical, emotional, and developmental needs. Develop and implement individualized care plans to address these needs and promote optimal patient outcomes.
  • Medication Administration and Management: Administer medications as prescribed by physicians and monitor patients for any adverse reactions. Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient responses.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless patient care. Communicate clearly and concisely with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure informed decision-making and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Education and Support: Provide education and support to patients and families on disease management, treatment options, and self-care techniques. Facilitate referrals to community resources and support services as needed.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety. Identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based practices to promote optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • License and Certification: Current RN license to practice in the State of Texas and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. PALS certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Skills and Abilities: Possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes. Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
