Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated individual to join our team as a Term Faculty member in the School of Nursing at Virginia Commonwealth University. This is a 12-month, open-rank position that offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the teaching, scholarship, and service missions of the university.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach in undergraduate and/or graduate areas, contributing to curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Coordinate clinical sections and clinical education sites, clinically supervising students in undergraduate clinical settings.
  • Participate in school governance activities and implement all roles of term faculty, including teaching, scholarship, and service.
  • Demonstrate commitment to contributing to VCU's Quest 2028 and fostering a diverse community at VCU.
Requirements
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in Virginia.
  • Graduate degree in nursing.
  • Clinical experience.
  • Documented effectiveness in collaboration and communication.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral Degree (PhD or DNP) in nursing or related field.
  • Experience in higher education, including teaching and simulation instruction.
  • Record of accomplishments in scholarship and professional service.
