Heavy Equipment Technician

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at RSG Forest Products. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of diesel-powered equipment, including fork trucks, loaders, and other machinery.
Key Responsibilities- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Diagnostic and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with fork trucks, loaders, and other machinery to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.
- Inspections and Record-Keeping: Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely, and maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime, and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure seamless operations.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards, and promote a safety-first culture within the team.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Certification and Training: Certification as a Diesel Mechanic or equivalent training is preferred.
