Job Summary

Sutter County, CA is seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to join our team at Sutter-Yuba Behavioral Health (SYBH). As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide direct clinical services and medical consultation to our Behavioral Health programs.

Our ideal candidate will possess a strong belief in team-based care, consumer/family empowerment, and rehabilitation. You will work closely with our team to provide comprehensive services, including examining and diagnosing clients, providing psychiatric treatment, and ordering laboratory tests.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical services and medical consultation to Behavioral Health programs
  • Examine and diagnose clients; provide psychiatric treatment; order laboratory tests; interpret laboratory analyses; write prescriptions
  • Review reports, record interventions, and general progress of clients; consult with other physicians, psychiatrists, practitioners, counselors, and personnel regarding ongoing or problem cases
  • Complete clinical documentation in a timely manner consistent with Policies and Procedures established by Sutter-Yuba Behavioral Health
  • Prepare reports and related correspondence; build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other County employees, and the public
  • Coordinate care with other Behavioral Health staff when appropriate for a particular case; provide medical direction to various behavioral health staff as a part of a clinical team
  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of case histories, evaluations, diagnoses, and the maintenance of client records; utilize the Electronic Health Record to its fullest extent
  • Consult with behavioral health staff, provider staff, and primary care physicians as necessary for the treatment and triage of clients; evaluate clients with complex psychiatric issues; attend Medical staff meetings, designated psychiatric service committees, and agency meetings as appropriate
  • Perform other services as required
Requirements
  • Must possess the equivalent to a Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited college or university
  • Shall maintain an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California and shall furnish a copy of the license at County's request
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid California driver's license
  • Must be eligible to possess a narcotics license (DEA) issued by the United States Department of Justice
