Job Summary:
This is a continuous recruitment for Mental Health Therapist positions within the Health and Human Services department. We are seeking qualified candidates to provide therapeutic services to individuals, groups, and families in a clinical or institutional setting.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate therapeutic groups and provide psychiatric casework, counseling, and treatment services.
- Confer with other staff members, psychiatrists, community agencies, and other stakeholders to implement treatment plans.
- Interpret and explain social and emotional factors related to illness to clients, relatives, and community groups.
- Participate in psychotherapy programs with psychiatric staff teams.
- Prepare social case histories with emphasis on psycho-social factors affecting patients or clients.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, psychiatric nursing, or a related field.
- Registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Clinical Social Worker, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, or other relevant license.
- Valid California license as a Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
- At least 2 years of post-licensure clinical or psychiatric social work experience.
Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies, effectively deal with personal danger, and maintain mental capacity to exercise sound judgment and rational thinking under varied circumstances.
