The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to devise innovative strategies for transportation planning and infrastructure development.

This position is aligned with CETOC's mission to foster transit-friendly, equitable, and sustainable communities while prioritizing environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced research utilizing AI and machine learning techniques to interpret intricate transportation and urban data.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze travel behavior and urban data from diverse sources.
  • Develop tools and methodologies for planning equitable transit-oriented developments.
  • Initiate new research projects that align with CETOC's objectives, employing AI technologies.
  • Engage with community stakeholders and assist in grant management as necessary.

This position is supported by grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation and University Transportation Centers.

The researcher will collaborate with professionals at the Center for Urban and Environmental Solutions and the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, alongside experts in transportation and data analytics.

Renewal of this position is contingent upon performance and funding availability. The role offers a competitive salary, health benefits, and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a doctoral degree in computer science, data science, urban planning, or a related discipline.

Proficiency in AI, machine learning, transportation systems, and urban analysis is essential. Familiarity with big data analytics and computer vision is preferred. Previous first-author publications are also advantageous.

Compensation:

$61,000.00
