Position Overview:
The Clinical Support Specialist plays a vital role in delivering clinical assistance to participants. This position encompasses both clinical and administrative responsibilities to enhance the overall operations of the clinic.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborates with medical personnel daily to prioritize participant scheduling and manage clinic flow effectively.
2. Measures vital signs and collects specimens, including blood draws and other tests, as directed by healthcare providers.
3. Reports any abnormal findings or changes in participant conditions to the Registered Nurse or Provider promptly.
4. Ensures all laboratory specimens are accurately labeled and prepared for timely courier pickup.
5. Prepares participants for examinations by assisting with disrobing and positioning them appropriately in exam areas.
6. Aids healthcare providers and nursing staff in medical procedures and treatments for which they have received training and demonstrated competency.
7. Assists in the preparation and administration of medications, inhalers, eye drops, and injections, in accordance with qualifications and site protocols.
8. Schedules necessary appointments and laboratory draws for participants, coordinating with both internal and external specialists.
9. Educates participants regarding their care and informs them of lab results as assigned.
10. Adheres to all regulatory standards and internal policies and procedures.
11. Maintains cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies and materials.
12. Conducts clerical duties as needed to fulfill charting requirements and completes weekly audits as assigned.
13. Confirms receipt of lab results and communicates with laboratories for additional information when necessary.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Proficient understanding of medical terminology.
- Experience in performing phlebotomy and EKGs.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with elderly or frail populations.
- High school diploma or GED.

Preferred:
- Bilingual capabilities.
