Compensation Range: $27.10/hour or $32,114 to $52,565/year (based on a standard 40-hour work week and relevant experience).

Qualifications:

Healthcare Assistant

EDUCATION – High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. EXPERIENCE – None required. EQUIVALENCY – One year of experience in a direct healthcare role may be considered in lieu of program completion. CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers / CPR.

Senior Healthcare Assistant

EDUCATION – High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. EXPERIENCE – Minimum of one year in a direct healthcare role. EQUIVALENCY – An additional year of experience in a direct healthcare role may substitute for program completion. Total experience requirement without program completion is two years in a direct healthcare role. BLS for Healthcare Providers / CPR and certification as a Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, National Certified Medical Assistant, Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant, or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.

Job Highlights:

Healthcare Assistants are integral members of the patient-centered medical team, directly contributing to patient care by assisting healthcare providers, collaborating with patients and families to implement care plans, and promoting patient safety and well-being. They are trained to perform both administrative and clinical tasks. Clinical responsibilities may include explaining treatment procedures, instructing patients on medications and dietary needs, preparing and administering medications, and conducting basic lab tests. Administrative duties may involve updating and organizing patient medical records, processing insurance forms, and scheduling appointments.
