Position Summary

Are you prepared to elevate your career in the automotive sector? Our bustling collision center is in search of a dedicated General Manager to lead and inspire our skilled team of professionals.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven history of effective management roles, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, and a strong commitment to achieving success with integrity.

In this role, you will manage daily operations and collaborate with sales and service leaders to establish ambitious yet attainable objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations, promptly address customer concerns, and ensure satisfaction metrics are achieved.
  • Recruit, hire, and train service managers, parts managers, and estimators to meet profitability targets.
  • Participate in management meetings and foster positive relationships with owners, managers, and staff to develop effective processes.
  • Implement growth strategies that align with the objectives of the automotive group by carefully analyzing profit and loss.
  • Set goals and objectives for the department and work diligently to achieve them.
  • Hire, train, motivate, and evaluate the performance of all collision center staff.
  • Prepare and manage an annual operating budget for the collision center.
  • Direct and schedule the work of all collision center personnel.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with insurance adjusters.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships to encourage repeat and referral business.
  • Monitor technicians' productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.
  • Provide accurate estimates on costs and time required for repairs.
  • Follow up on parts orders to ensure availability.
  • Oversee the progress and completion of vehicles in the shop, ensuring adherence to repair and safety protocols.
  • Maintain high standards of service quality and minimize comebacks by conducting periodic checks of completed jobs.
  • Ensure the quality of completed work meets expectations.
  • Address customer complaints in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Manage documentation to ensure all records are complete, accurate, and properly filed.
  • Prepare final billing for completed repair orders.
  • Oversee accounts receivable for repair work.
  • Stay informed about and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations affecting collision center operations, including hazardous waste disposal and safety standards.
  • Ensure proper safety equipment is available and utilized correctly.
  • Facilitate technical training and arrange for staff to attend relevant training programs as needed.
  • Monitor the maintenance of equipment and tools to ensure long-term usability and value.
  • Stay updated on new tools and equipment available and recommend purchases as necessary.
  • Ensure cleanliness in work areas and customer waiting areas.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory; a high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a managerial role within a dealership or automotive group is essential.
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry and current trends is necessary.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record to operate dealership-owned vehicles.
  • Strong communication skills, proven leadership experience, and the ability to interpret financial statements are crucial for success.
