Position Overview:

The Facilities Maintenance Lead is responsible for supervising the maintenance department's operations during designated shifts. This role involves evaluating systems or facilities to identify necessary maintenance or repairs. The Lead will assess building systems to effectively plan work assignments and project timelines. Additionally, the position entails developing maintenance protocols and schedules, ensuring the proper functioning of utilities and manufacturing equipment, and overseeing the maintenance team's responsibilities and expectations.

Essential Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills in mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic electrical systems are essential, along with an understanding of preventive maintenance practices.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the maintenance field or a related area is preferred, with fewer years acceptable if the experience is in an FDA-regulated environment.
  • At least 3 years of prior leadership experience in maintenance is required.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in aseptic manufacturing of regulated products, with a solid understanding of cGMP, FDA guidelines, and international regulatory standards is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and manage workflow effectively.
  • Supervise and mentor the assigned maintenance team.
  • Ensure adequate maintenance coverage to support operational needs.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance manager and team to inspect safety of operational equipment, ensuring compliance with standards and maintaining efficient production areas.
  • Train new Maintenance Technicians as required.
  • Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Monitor employee attendance and scheduling.
  • Identify and promote career advancement opportunities.
  • Assist in resolving employee issues and disputes as necessary.
  • Coordinate with planner/scheduler to manage preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Oversee daily maintenance operations.
  • Communicate with and guide external contractors.
  • Report findings and conditions to the Maintenance Manager as needed.
  • Ensure all work orders are completed within designated timeframes.
  • Maintain facilities and equipment in a state of audit readiness.
  • Ensure proper maintenance coverage with managerial approval.
