Responsibilities:


JOB SUMMARY
The primary goal of the Senior Pastry Chef position is to expertly prepare and bake a variety of desserts, breads, and pastries.

The individual in this role is responsible for delivering high-quality food and aesthetically pleasing presentations while adhering to food safety and quality standards.

They are expected to provide outstanding service in alignment with the company's mission, values, and established goals.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES


Adhere to recipes to efficiently prepare and present all dessert, pastry, and bread items, accommodating special requests as needed.
Review kitchen inventory to ensure adequate preparation for each shift.

Measure and mix ingredients for dough or batter.

Prepare and cook components for pies, puddings, custards, and other desserts.

Adjust oven temperatures as necessary to ensure optimal baking conditions.

Prepare icings and frostings.

Decorate cakes and pastries with creativity and precision.

Complete equipment checks and report any issues promptly.

Rotate food items in storage to minimize waste and spoilage.

Maintain cleanliness in all food preparation areas.

Communicate inventory needs to kitchen management.

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of menu items.


Maintain an organized workspace while adhering to sanitation standards as per health regulations.

Present a neat and professional appearance in accordance with company standards.

Follow all safety and security protocols, reporting any incidents or unsafe conditions.


Participate in training sessions and meetings as required.

Perform additional tasks as assigned, including cross-training opportunities.


Engage with guests in a warm and friendly manner, upholding the company's service standards.

All other duties as assigned, whether planned or unplanned.

Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Understanding of safety, sanitation, and food handling practices.

Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and production.

Familiarity with the proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment.

Basic baking and pastry production knowledge.

Ability to communicate effectively and manage multiple tasks.

Proficient in the use of culinary tools and knives.

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and POS systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Culinary or Pastry & Baking degree or equivalent training in the hospitality industry is preferred.

At least 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role is required.

Experience in luxury hospitality settings is preferred.

Food Safety certification is preferred or must be obtained within 30 days.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be comfortable working in a shared kitchen space with a high level of activity and noise.


Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines with professionalism and teamwork.

Must be able to work safely in a kitchen environment with high temperatures and humidity.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
