Position Overview

The Lead Structural Engineer plays a crucial role in the design and development of metal building structures. This position involves overseeing engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering high-quality technical outputs that align with client specifications.

The Lead Structural Engineer will be responsible for managing project timelines, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and crafting innovative solutions that fulfill business objectives. This role requires a proactive approach to resolving complex challenges and contributing to the overall strategic direction of the organization.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive and compliant designs that adhere to industry codes and manufacturing guidelines, resulting in cost-effective and efficient building systems.
  • Collaborate with production engineering teams to inform strategic decisions and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Effectively communicate technical requirements and challenges to design teams to facilitate prompt resolution of issues.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Establish and maintain design standards and practices for engineering and detailing teams.
  • Lead the adaptation of engineering practices in response to evolving building codes and standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers, promoting professional development and technical proficiency.
  • Implement company policies and procedures to meet organizational goals and objectives.
  • Engage with industry associations to promote the use of metal building design and contribute to advancements in engineering practices.
  • Serve as a technical expert in legal matters as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience in the metal buildings sector or a related field.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing or building products.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, design tools, and methodologies.
  • Proven ability to influence decision-making at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
