Position Overview

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Independently create detailed specifications for project assignments, outlining client requirements, design needs, and applicable codes.
  • Develop engineering sketches, conduct calculations, and create analysis models for moderately complex projects.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Engage in effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Set achievable expectations and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Follow company quality standards and adhere to engineering review procedures.
  • Comply with all health, safety, security, and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in hazard identification programs and report any unsafe conditions to management.
  • Collaborate with the drafting/design team to create and review engineering drawings.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and conditions.
  • Inspect vendor facilities to ensure equipment meets specifications.

  • Verify engineering drawings and calculations for accuracy.
  • Focus on safe design practices while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage project resources, budgets, and timelines, seeking assistance when needed.
  • Develop and review engineering design packages.
  • Contribute to the creation of internal design guidelines and specifications.
  • Address project design challenges effectively.
  • Estimate man-hours and costs based on project scope.
  • Forecast project requirements and schedules.
  • May lead smaller projects and oversee daily workflow within a team.
  • Provide constructive feedback on team performance and address work-related issues.
  • Offer guidance on best practices and technical expertise to colleagues.
  • Serve as the Engineer in Responsible Charge as required, adhering to PE sealing regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
  • Degree from an ABET Accredited Institution is preferred.
  • Specialization in Civil/Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Field experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Experience leading small to medium projects is preferred.
  • Familiarity with STADD, SACS, MAT 3D, and Foundation software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of steel and concrete structural design is preferred.
  • Understanding of structural design codes (AISC, ACI, API, IBC, etc.) is preferred.
  • Ability to make informed decisions and solve problems effectively.
  • Proactive approach to addressing work-related challenges.
  • Strong comprehension skills and willingness to seek clarification.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to direct projects to completion.

Work Schedule: This position follows a 9-hour workday from Monday to Thursday (Office) and a 4-hour workday on Fridays (Remote).
