POSITION SUMMARY

ROLE: Educational Support Specialist

SUPERVISOR: School Principal

QUALIFICATIONS: Understanding of child development principles, behavioral characteristics, and effective student engagement strategies. Proficiency in English language skills, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Familiarity with routine documentation and record-keeping. Knowledge of public education objectives and specific subject matter as needed for the role. Consistent attendance is essential.

OBJECTIVE: To facilitate enhanced learning opportunities for students in designated subjects. To provide a range of clerical and supportive services to educational staff. To carry out related responsibilities as necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborates with educators to create and deliver instructional materials and activities.
  • Provides individualized or small group tutoring to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Monitors and supervises students during classroom sessions, library visits, and educational excursions.
  • Aids in the creation of diverse instructional resources.
  • Handles various clerical tasks, including filing, typing, and duplicating documents.
  • Keeps accurate student records, attendance logs, and files.
  • Utilizes various educational tools, office equipment, and technology.
  • Maintains classroom order in the absence of the lead educator.
  • Operates under the guidance of a certified teacher and undertakes additional tasks as assigned.
  • Performs all other duties as required.
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Position spans nine months during the academic year, totaling 184 working days.
