Role Summary:

The Superintendent will be integral in managing all facets of ground-up commercial retail development initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in directing construction projects from start to finish, emphasizing quality, safety, and operational efficiency. Collaboration with project managers, subcontractors, and various stakeholders will be essential to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct all on-site construction operations for commercial retail development projects.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate efficient project execution.
  • Track project progress, identify potential challenges, and implement solutions to maintain timelines.
  • Ensure adherence to project specifications, building codes, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in managing ground-up commercial retail development projects.
  • Demonstrated success in overseeing construction projects from inception to completion, with a focus on quality and safety.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, techniques, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and permitting processes in New Jersey.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage teams and collaborate effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in construction management software, including Procore and MS Office.
  • Experience in civil construction, particularly in demolition and land excavation.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
