Job Summary

The IT Systems Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of Enterprise-Class IT Systems. This includes monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network, server, and messaging-based IT Systems. The successful candidate will lead IT projects and provide technical guidance to team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain large-scale IT systems environments, advising on design concepts, implementation strategies, and deployment timelines.
  • Manage the development, testing, and deployment of software and other computer systems technologies to ensure compliance with operational requirements for security, performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Provide internal IT Data Center support and maintenance, ensuring seamless operation of critical systems.
  • Research existing and emerging hardware and software technologies to determine capabilities and cost-benefit relationships, developing ongoing computer systems solutions that meet performance and budgetary requirements.
  • Create thorough documentation records of design specifications and deployed systems configurations.
  • Coordinate and execute Azure and Private Cloud managed services implementations, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Provide network and security assessments, identifying opportunities for system improvements and efficiencies.
  • Create, document, and escalate issues and problems according to ticketing standards and SLAs.
  • Perform remote and onsite scheduled maintenance for ComTec internal and client-based systems.
  • Adhere to departmental policies for reporting and managing change requests.
  • Participate in an emergency on-call rotation schedule.
  • Support development and implementation of Microsoft Azure and Private Cloud infrastructure.
  • Perform SQL, Hyper-V, and Software Defined Storage performance tuning.

Education, Experience, and Knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant IT experience
  • Preferred Certifications
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator
  • Microsoft Azure Database Administrator Associate
  • SonicWall Network Security Professional (SNSP)
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Use of computer and office equipment
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Performs all administrative functions expected at this level
