Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Manager is responsible for overseeing the sterile processing department at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. This role ensures the efficient and effective management of sterile processing activities, including the preparation and distribution of sterile supplies to patient care areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Management
    • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Asante's standards of care.
    • Supervise and mentor sterile processing staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Operations Management
    • Oversee the daily operations of the sterile processing department, including the receipt, storage, and distribution of sterile supplies.
    • Ensure that all sterile supplies are properly processed and sterilized to meet Asante's quality standards.
  • Quality and Compliance
    • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to ensure that the sterile processing department meets or exceeds regulatory requirements and Asante's standards of care.
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Asante's policies and procedures.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with patient care areas, other departments, and external partners to ensure that sterile supplies are delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that sterile processing activities are aligned with Asante's strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Education
    • Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 3 years of recent sterile processing experience in a healthcare setting, with at least 2 years of experience in a management position.
  • Certifications
    • CSPDT, CRCST, or CSPDS certification is required.
