HR Manager Job Description

PrideStaff is seeking a highly skilled HR Manager to join our team in Northport, AL.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer Human Resources policies, programs, and practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • Manage the recruitment process, including advertisement strategies, interviewing, hiring, and applicant processing.
  • Represent the organization at external job fairs, networking, and speaking engagements to promote our brand and attract top talent.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and ensure required training is completed by employees to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
  • Oversee the maintenance of personnel/medical files, I-9, and background, drug, and DMV check files to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Build strong relationships with leaders at all levels to foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Prepare all necessary termination paperwork and ensure exit interviews are conducted for voluntary departures from the organization to maintain a positive employer brand.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws to reduce potential for litigation and maintain a positive reputation.
  • Maintain a presence with employees by attending pre-shift and department meetings, as well as analyzing surveys about the organization from newly hired employees to identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of job descriptions to ensure accuracy and compliance with labor laws.
  • Oversee the planning and coordination of employee communications and events for recruitment efforts to attract top talent.
  • Handle and investigate any Employee Relations issues to ensure a fair and respectful work environment.
  • Undertake special projects as required to support the organization's goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening, and public relations skills to effectively communicate with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to forge strong, trusting relationships with management to build a positive and productive work environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills working with diverse backgrounds to ensure a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Must possess and exude a positive, team-oriented attitude to lead by example and promote a positive work culture.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and tasks while remaining productive, discreet, and professional to meet deadlines and deliver results.
  • Self-starter with a willingness and enthusiasm for taking on additional responsibility to support the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Creative and detail-oriented, organized, and capable of meeting established deadlines to deliver high-quality results.
  • Independent thinking and problem-solving capabilities to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employee laws and regulations to ensure compliance and reduce potential for litigation.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends to support the organization's needs and deliver results.
  • Excellent organization, time management, stress management, and problem-solving skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and deliver results under pressure.
