LOCATION: This position is based in our corporate office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct thorough audits of medical bills to confirm compliance with State Fee Schedules, client specifications, and PPO agreements.
- Possess a solid understanding of Fee Schedules and proficient operation of computer systems.
- Utilize reference materials as necessary during the auditing process.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations during work hours as part of the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
PRODUCTION STANDARDS:
- Achieve a minimum accuracy rate of 98% based on situational or state-specific requirements, with a keystroke rate exceeding 10,000 per hour.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Familiarity with medical terminology, workers' compensation billing protocols, and fee schedules.
- Understanding of CPT/ICD/HCPS coding.
- Knowledge of UBO4/DWC-9/DWC-10 and CMS 1500 form types is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to exceptional customer service.
- Able to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Capable of identifying issues and devising innovative, effective solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly developed organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of experience in data entry.
- Previous experience in Medical Bill Review is preferred.
COMPENSATION:
CorVel employs a market-based approach to compensation, with salary ranges varying based on geographic location and other relevant factors. Pay rates consider federal, state, and local minimum wage laws, geographic differentials, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and market conditions. Adjustments to salary ranges may occur.
For positions with multiple levels (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.), new hires may be assigned to a different level based on assessments during the interview process, which will consider experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The assigned level may influence the salary range, and these details will be clarified during the offer process.
