Environmental Services Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Services Manager to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of environmental services to patients, family members, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Manage compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including JCAHO, EPA, OSHA, and local government requirements.
- Schedule staff to provide coverage of all necessary assignments and adjust resource allocation to match ongoing changes in hospital needs.
- Identify future work needs, plan resources, and complete tasks to improve overall appearance levels.
- Assist in formulating and implementing departmental goals and objectives.
- Maintain compliance with departmental programs, including patient surveys, quality control inspections, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Perform regular rounds to check environmental conditions, observe cleaning techniques, and provide feedback to staff.
- Coordinate receipt, distribution, completion, and follow-up of work orders.
- Assess and recommend environmental improvements in collaboration with Plant Engineering and other hospital department managers.
- Assist the EVS Director in preparing budgets for areas of responsibility.
- Drive team member engagement and patient experience initiatives across the department.
- Monitor and justify significant monthly variances on supplies, purchased services, or salaries and hours budget.
- Authorize benefit time for staff and update and approve payroll.
- Oversee and advise on environmental concerns, including infection control, interior design, pest control, storage, sanitation, materials selection, safety, and waste management.
- Associate degree in Business, Health Care, Hotel Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Housekeeping or Facilities Management.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Hotel Management, or related field.
- Computer skills, preferably Microsoft Office.
- Technical skills relative to housekeeping operations and janitorial equipment.
