Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Shop Foreman with outstanding manufacturing expertise and a solid understanding of various CNC machines and controls. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to interpret customer job travelers and work orders, read and understand mechanical blueprints, and prepare and install computer control programs for machining centers. This role requires selecting, inspecting, and installing appropriate tooling while operating computer-controlled machining centers in a safe and productive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with shop personnel and department managers to organize work across all shifts.
  • Assist employees in maintaining and enhancing efficiencies while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Lead efforts to meet and exceed production targets.
  • Develop and facilitate training programs, while enforcing production policies and procedures.
  • Utilize gaging and inspection equipment to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Ensure adherence to company certification and ISO registration requirements.
  • Oversee the presetting process to maximize equipment utilization.
  • Monitor workloads and schedules to guarantee timely deliveries while upholding high-quality standards.
  • Engage daily with the company ERP system.
  • Identify training, machinery, tooling, and process needs for the department.
  • Manage departmental expenses and budgets effectively.
  • Oversee planning sequences and review time standards for part routings.
  • Support and promote management-directed lean process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate production history to meet customer requirements.
  • Achieve departmental and personal goals for productivity and quality, while striving for continuous improvement.
  • Report any machinery or process issues to the Manager or Maintenance team.
  • Handle multiple tasks and manage various projects simultaneously.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols established by the company, including proper equipment usage and procedures.

Required Attributes:

  • Exemplary management skills, demonstrating a strong work ethic and support for team members.
  • Effective communication of relevant information and a strong team player mentality.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential for this role.
  • Previous experience in a leadership position, such as Lead or Supervisor.
  • Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven track record of high work standards, quality, and teamwork.
  • Competence in operating and performing on multiple machine tools.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to inspect machined components using various inspection tools.
  • Strong mathematical and blueprint reading abilities.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Five to ten years of experience in the manufacturing sector, with knowledge of speeds and feeds, along with two years of leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Familiarity with MS applications.
  • Strong mathematical skills and aptitude.

Work Environment:

Compensation and Benefits:

Employee benefits include medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, long-term disability, and a 401(k) plan with up to a 6% company match.

The compensation range for the Shop Foreman position for onsite applicants is $90,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Some shifts may offer differential pay rates. Compensation ranges may vary by location.
