Fleet Diesel Mechanic Job Description

At Performance Food Group, we're seeking a skilled Fleet Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of diesel-powered vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain diesel engines and vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Perform routine maintenance on trucks and equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend lifespan
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues to identify and resolve problems quickly
  • Order and replace parts as needed to minimize downtime and maintain vehicle reliability
  • Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy duty truck technician
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair and maintenance procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve maintenance goals
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills to resolve complex mechanical issues
