Fleet Diesel Mechanic Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Fleet Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of diesel equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and refrigeration units
  • Identify and repair basic failures and conditions
  • Ensure equipment is roadworthy and compliant with regulations
  • Document work orders and repairs through our online Enterprise Asset Management system
  • Install, replace, and repair onboard computers
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, and other critical components
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and lubrication
  • Train and guide other mechanics as needed
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair
  • Proven track record of preventative maintenance and repair
