Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and reconcile discrepancies between schedules and financial statements
  • Prepare and proof financial statements, audit reports, and other documents
  • Prepare Federal and State individual and business tax returns
  • Accounting and tax work paper preparation
  • Experience with completing tax planning and research
  • Understanding tax regulations and accounting pronouncements
  • Keep up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
  • Handles routine client tax questions and works with clients to collect necessary information for tax return completion and compliance
  • Ability to develop strong working relationship with clients
Requirements
  • 3-7 years of recent public accounting experience
  • Active CPA preferred; CPA candidate (150 credits to sit for the CPA exam) is required
  • Degree in Accounting or related field with ability to sit for CPA exam
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Strong accounting, analytical, technical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication abilities
  • Prior basic supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple engagements and effectively delegate work as needed
  • Willingness to travel locally on a limited basis
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with tax research databases such as GoFileRoom, tax software such as Thomson Reuters or comparable programs and standard tax work papers
  • Salary based on experience $80,000 - $110,000
