Job Overview

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The primary role is to supervise the receipt of merchandise for storage, ensuring adherence to the company's safety protocols while overseeing the Deliver cell's compliance with established guidelines. This position involves monitoring departmental labor costs and striving to maintain a low turnover rate. The manager leads by example, embodying all aspects of Mathis' Service Culture, and proactively introduces innovative ideas to enhance the work environment and culture. Strict enforcement of safety regulations is mandatory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure timely and proper handling of all merchandise cages.
  • Monitor cleanliness and organization of merchandise storage.
  • Utilize scanning technology for accurate labeling of merchandise destinations.
  • Oversee the preparation of tickets for deliveries.
  • Direct the removal of damaged goods for repair.
  • Maintain a clean warehouse environment.
  • Ensure safe operational practices among employees, including knife handling and equipment use.
  • Implement disciplinary measures and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Promote effective customer relations with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate team-building and communication initiatives as directed by management.
  • Provide leadership to enhance interdepartmental communication.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and communicate performance goals regularly.
  • Conduct ongoing training for team leaders and staff to uphold company standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: Candidates must be capable of lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs), possess effective communication skills, maintain a positive demeanor with customers, and thrive in a fast-paced setting. Prior experience in Quality Assurance is essential.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS: To fulfill the essential functions of this role, the employee must be able to perform the following: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, and engaging in repetitive motions.

Work Environment: Employees may occasionally work in varying temperature conditions and may be exposed to wet or humid environments.
