Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Attendant Leader to join our Facilities Services team at the University of Texas at Austin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating the work of cleaning workers, ensuring that all university buildings are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and coordinate the work of cleaning workers using standardized procedures.
  • Inspect and document the cleanliness of university facilities and employees' work performance.
  • Manage performance through observations, inspections, and communication of goals and standards.
  • Evaluate, direct, and discipline employees as needed.
  • Process and review time reports, inspection reports, absence documentation, supply order forms, performance records, performance evaluations, and periodic project reports.
  • Conduct training and ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and employees using various methods.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of experience in custodial, environmental services, hospitality, warehouse, production, or facilities services.
  • Experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, instructions, product labels, product directions, and other written job materials.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience supervising custodians in an OS1 cleaning environment.
  • More than one year of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Advanced writing skills.
  • Working knowledge of safety and sanitation measures appropriate for custodial work.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in all university buildings, which may involve exposure to various environmental conditions, including chemicals, biohazards, and electrical and mechanical hazards. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds, push and pull up to 50 pounds, and use industrial-sized cleaning equipment.

Salary and Benefits
