About the Role

Holtec International, a global leader in nuclear energy solutions, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Analyst to join its team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing the next generation of nuclear power plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform structural and mechanical design analysis for pressure vessels, supports, mechanical equipment, and structures.
  • Develop mature design requirements by gaining an understanding of the system, structure, or components.
  • Review and improve concept designs based on limited requirements or functions.
  • Support the preparation of design deliverables, presentations, and communicate design progress in stakeholder meetings.
  • Contribute to the development of engineering and licensing requirements and documentation for nuclear systems and components.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering, applied mechanics, structural engineering, materials science and engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Strong academic background in mechanical or structural engineering and analysis, including coursework applying analysis methods and performing finite element analysis.
  • 0-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Effective communication, organizational, interpersonal, and technical writing skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and capable of producing error-free documents.
  • Strong math, analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills.
  • Eligibility to work under 10 CFR Part 810.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in mechanical engineering, applied mechanics, structural engineering, materials science and engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Industry experience designing/fabricating of heat exchangers, piping, valves, pumps, and ASME components.
  • Experience using FEA simulation to support product development.
  • Knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Nuclear Regulations and Guidance from 10 CFR 50; 10 CFR 52; NUREG-0800 Chapters 3, 4, 5, and 6; and nuclear quality assurance.
