In-House Privacy Counsel

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Privacy and Information Security Attorney to join our Corporate Law Department. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in advising on enterprise programs related to privacy, information security, risk, and compliance.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in privacy and information security laws and regulations, with a proven track record of success in anticipating legal issues and enabling clients' needs through the practice of practical, preventative law.
Responsibilities- Advise on federal and state privacy and information security requirements, enterprise risk management, and the compliance and ethics program.
- Collaborate closely with peers in other legal practice groups and with business leaders throughout the enterprise.
- Provide legal advice on information retention, crisis management, AML/OFAC, and business continuity, as well as general technology-related legal matters.
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school and excellent academic credentials.
- Active license to practice law in at least one state and membership in good standing of the bar.
- Ability to obtain a limited license in IL if not already appropriately licensed in IL.
- 5+ years of experience with privacy and/or information security laws and regulations.
- Familiarity with risk and/or compliance programs.
- Familiarity with State Farm's company structure and general departments.
