Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer III

At Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., we are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer III to join our Manufacturing Engineering team in Asheville. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing technical support for special processes and assembly operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure product conformance, quality, and cost effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with various teams to resolve production issues and maintain smooth production operations.
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop corrective and preventive actions to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Implement continuous improvement projects, applying Lean methodologies and PPI tools.
  • Provide technical assistance and expertise to manufacturing, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Establish and maintain manufacturing specifications and documentation.
  • Support the implementation of new products and contribute to the development of existing products.
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience in an ISO quality environment preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, with a focus on Mechanical, Industrial, or Mechatronics Engineering, is preferred. Equivalent experience in the field will also be considered.
  • Proven expertise in fostering continuous improvement and driving lean processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop action plans for efficient production.
  • Proficiency in process auditing and Lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Excellent prioritization, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
