Key Responsibilities of the Senior Electrical Engineer:
Engineering Standards:
Continuously enhances knowledge and applies independent understanding of departmental design guidelines, standards, systems, relevant engineering codes, and company policies regarding assigned responsibilities.
Quality and Continuous Improvement:
Independently applies expertise and adheres to quality protocols related to assigned tasks. May oversee compliance with quality initiatives and provide guidance to peers within the same project and discipline. Supports efforts in continuous improvement and change management.
Engineering Production:
Generates a range of intricate engineering deliverables. Conducts detailed research and formulates recommendations for equipment and material selection. Executes complex engineering calculations following established methods and principles. Manages budget, schedule, and quality expectations. Plans and performs independent evaluations, selections, and adaptations of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Reviews work of junior engineers and may oversee the collection and management of data for engineering tasks, lead smaller production teams, and serve as the project lead.
Project Coordination:
Actively collaborates with internal and external team members on moderately complex projects.
Client Engagement:
Assists in identifying key client interests and priorities on less complex projects. Communicates these interests to project team members and develops strategies to address them in project execution. May support business development initiatives.
Knowledge Sharing, Innovation, and Technology:
Recognized as a technical expert within the division, possessing in-depth knowledge of engineering processes and technical aspects of the industry. Designs comprehensive projects of moderate complexity within assigned practice areas.
People Management:
Typically assists in the performance management process, mentoring, recognition, and any necessary corrective actions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- California PE License or PE in any US state
- Expertise in Substation Design, Physical & P&C
- Quality Assurance and Quality Control experience in substation design projects
- Strong written communication skills
- Proven ability to drive results, prioritize tasks, plan effectively, delegate responsibilities, direct teams, manage conflicts, inform stakeholders, listen actively, and navigate ambiguity while building effective teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program in the relevant country. A minimum of 5 years of related work experience is essential. All candidates must be able to fulfill pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include background checks and other assessments, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
