Position Overview
This role involves spearheading the formulation and execution of readiness evaluation strategies, ensuring collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
1. Assess the efficiency of current engineering and management methodologies essential for optimal sustainment.
2. Collaborate with peers to disseminate and incorporate readiness evaluation techniques and best practices.
3. Engage in the development of acquisition and in-service support policies and methodologies.
4. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be deemed suitable for federal employment.
  • Participation in the direct deposit pay program is mandatory.
  • New hires will need to successfully complete the E-Verify employment verification check.

Current federal employees applying for GS positions must have served at least one year at the next lower grade level, known as time-in-grade, by the closing date of this announcement.

Retired military members must adhere to specific provisions regarding civilian employment within 180 days of retirement.

All males born after must be registered for Selective Service.

Security clearance will be required prior to commencement of duties, and failure to maintain this clearance may lead to withdrawal of job offers or termination.


Qualifications
Your resume should illustrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (DP-04) or grade level (GS-12/13) in federal service or comparable experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must include:
  1. Knowledge of electronic warfare principles and practices, aircraft power systems, and weapons systems.
  2. Involvement in the creation of acquisition and in-service support policies.
  3. Leadership in the enhancement and automation of integrated budget databases for aircraft engine and propulsion systems.
  4. Evaluation and development of additional reutilization opportunities for propulsion components.
  5. Interpretation of policies to assess their impact on program needs.
  6. Review of propulsion system management plans for technical enhancements.

Education
Applicants must fulfill the basic educational requirements set by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM):
Successful completion of a professional engineering degree from an accredited institution.

Acceptable programs must:
1. Lead to a bachelor's degree in engineering accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or
2. Include advanced coursework in essential engineering sciences.

Alternative qualifications may include:
1. Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI) or Engineer in Training (EIT); or
2. Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination; or
3. Completion of at least 60 semester hours in relevant physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences.

Additional Information
This position is part of the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program, and additional vacancies may be filled through this announcement. A tentative employment offer may be rescinded if pre-employment requirements are not met. Federal annuitant policies apply, and military spouse preference candidates will be evaluated based on qualifications.
