Position Overview:

JHNA is in search of a dedicated Systems Engineering Specialist with a robust background in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to provide support to our esteemed government client.


Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will utilize scientific, mathematical, and statistical approaches to analyze and resolve technological challenges associated with the engineering and scientific advancement of systems, processes, and equipment.

The primary focus will be on:

  • Designing and implementing MBSE strategies for acquisition initiatives and modernizing existing legacy systems.
  • Enhancing standardization and interoperability within a digitally integrated modeling framework while safeguarding classified and Intellectual Property (IP) data rights.
  • Developing and refining best practices for MBSE methodologies and ontologies related to SysML modeling tools, tailored project profiles, and advanced computational tools.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers as necessary.
  • Assisting in the formulation and execution of system integration plans, digital transformation strategies, data management, and other systems engineering documentation.
  • Creating and optimizing modeling processes tailored to stakeholder requirements, ensuring adherence to MBSE methodologies and best practices.
  • Reviewing and adjudicating MBSE deliverables for both internal and external stakeholders, identifying models with capabilities that can be utilized across the enterprise.
  • Contributing to workforce development by designing and delivering training materials that reflect the ongoing evolution of MBSE best practices and innovations.

Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must:

  • Be a US Citizen with an active Secret Clearance and the capability to secure a Top Secret Clearance.
  • Hold a BS or BA degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Have experience in constructing and evaluating systems engineering and architecture models using various methodologies to inform critical technical decisions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques.
  • Be familiar with SysML tools such as Cameo (No Magic), Rhapsody, or other MBSE software.
  • Exhibit proficiency in MS Office applications including Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Be capable of thriving in a self-directed work environment and collaborating effectively within a distributed team.
