We are seeking a driven and ambitious individual to join our Tax Department as a Real Estate Tax Specialist.
Key Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with the team to accurately enter new properties into property tax management software and update changes on a monthly basis.
- Prepare month-end journal entries and accruals while reconciling various allocation, liability, and expense accounts.
- Conduct monthly analyses of property tax account balances to ensure precision.
- Assist in monthly and quarterly variance analyses for management reporting purposes.
- Verify tax amounts on pre-close escrow statements and monitor properties to facilitate payment requests or issue funds if re-proration is necessary.
- Engage with other departments and tax jurisdictions to resolve issues effectively.
- Support and cross-train with colleagues within the department.
- Review processes for efficiency and enhancement, aiding in implementation and documentation.
- Assist with ad-hoc reporting and special projects as required.
Base Pay Range: $105,000
Compensation may vary outside of this range based on various factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is part of our comprehensive awards approach to compensation, which recognizes and rewards employees for their contributions. This role may also be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses or incentives.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3+ years of relevant experience and/or training.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with various levels of staff and management.
- Understanding of financial statements and familiarity with Real Estate terminology.
- Exceptional organizational skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Capability to analyze data and exercise judgment, with a strong attention to detail and a focus on meeting deadlines.
- Experience with OneSource is advantageous.
