Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Project Manager to oversee the construction contract, ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures, and intervene when necessary to ensure timely completion of project work. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities
  • Oversight of the construction contract, including coordination with design teams and resolution of design issues.
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
  • Intervene when necessary to ensure timely completion of project work, including tracking contractor submittals and monitoring project schedules.
  • Coordinate with design teams to resolve design issues and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Review and process Request-for-Information and Information-Bulletins, and oversee safety and security of the site.
  • Track contractor submittals using submittal exchange, and keep agency Area Supervisor informed of progress and issues.
  • Conduct Bi-Weekly project meetings, complete Bi-Weekly job reports, and create and track Field Orders and Change Orders.
  • Assess impact of change requests or delays on the project schedule and budget, and monitor contractor's schedule in Primavera P6.
  • Hold monthly scheduling meetings, review and assist OGS personnel with claim responses or contractor disputes, and track monthly contractor payment review and certified payrolls.
  • Ensure compliance with the project specific construction management plan, and oversee Inspector duties, including coordination with Code Inspection personnel.
  • Complete accident reporting as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong background in construction management.
  • OSHA 30 certification, and ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Candidate must have a degree from an accredited college in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in construction involving multiple phases of large-scale building/rehabilitation projects.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a role of Project Manager responsible for large-scale projects valued above $10 million, with an extensive knowledge of all facets of construction and construction documents.
  • Ability to manage various projects using established controls and procedures, and provide job site leadership in all areas of scheduling, safety, and quality.
  • Experienced coordinating with designers handling any critical issues pertinent to the project or the client/facility.
  • Full knowledge of the change order and cost review process, and the review/approval of contractor's payment application.
  • Valid drivers' license, dependable transportation, and the ability to travel as needed.
  • Proficient with web-based submittal collaboration system, and project scheduling software (preferably Oracle Primavera).
  • Cost estimating/negotiating experience, and knowledgeable experience with the Uniform Building Code.
