Job Title: Stroke Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Stroke Coordinator to join our team at Tenet Massachusetts. As a Stroke Coordinator, you will play a critical role in facilitating and coordinating the Key Elements of the Stroke Certification process, including development and review of protocols, initial and ongoing training, performance improvement, and community outreach.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Emergency Department, ED Director, EMS, hospital department directors, and staff to develop and implement patient care pathways based on current research and standards of care.
  • Ensure personnel providing care in the Stroke/Neuro units obtain and maintain required competencies in collaboration with the Education Department.
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives for Stroke Certification in collaboration with the ED Director, ED Manager, Stroke Team, and Quality Management Director.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports on clinical care reviews, reviewing with the ED Director, ED Assistant Director, Stroke Medical Director, and appropriate committees as scheduled.
  • Collect and analyze stroke program patient data to assist with documentation, clinical care, and improved outcomes.
  • Participate in concurrent quality improvement programs for stroke conditions with EMS personnel by reviewing patient-level data.
  • Promote education related to Stroke and cardiac conditions to identified units and other hospital personnel.
  • Support and collaborate with Hospital/Education and Marketing to develop community outreach/educational programs.
Requirements:
  • 5 years' clinical experience, including telemetry.
  • Familiarity with the Neuroscience patient population and Stroke evidenced-based medicine requirements.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work independently and be self-directed.
  • Ability to coordinate and work with teams at varying levels across the organization.
  • Proficient in a variety of software and computer programs, including Cerner, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Process Improvement/Quality management methodologies, including statistical analysis.
Qualifications:
  • Graduated from a state-approved school of nursing, academic degree in nursing (Bachelor's or Master's degree).
  • Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; CPR.
