POSITION SUMMARY
The Engineering Technician plays a crucial role in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational support of simulation equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the Electrical Engineering team to diagnose and enhance electrical and electronic simulator systems.
- Conduct both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on training devices and associated equipment.
- Execute daily operational readiness assessments.
- Generate maintenance action reports and relevant support documentation.
- Assist simulator instructors and students as needed.
- Facilitate simulator modifications and upgrades.
- Participate in simulator certification processes.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not involve supervisory duties.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
MID: 3-7 Years
- Proficient understanding of flight simulators or similar complex electronic systems, including the principles of digital and analog electronics.
- Experience in interpreting electrical schematics and troubleshooting electronic components.
- Familiarity with instruments and devices relevant to the avionics sector.
- Knowledge of standard electronic testing equipment, such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending English.
- Capable of clearly communicating information, both verbally and in writing.
- Adept at presenting information effectively and addressing inquiries from clients.
- Manual dexterity necessary for operating machinery and computers.
- Ability to thrive in a highly regulated environment.
- Proficient in using computers and standard office software.
- Strong team collaboration skills.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- An Associate's degree in Electronics from an accredited institution or completion of a vocational or military simulator or electronics program is preferred.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a United States Citizen due to contractual obligations.
- Ability to pass an initial background check is required.
- Must obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense security clearance, subject to a government security investigation.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for on-site integration, testing, and acceptance, which may involve extended stays at customer locations.
- Aero Simulation, Inc. is a Drug-Free Workplace, and candidates must successfully pass pre-employment and random drug testing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Physical demands include the ability to perform normal office duties, such as sitting for extended periods.
- Capability to travel via various modes of transportation, including cars and airplanes.
- Ability to climb stairs to access simulators.
- Additional skills may be necessary for specific tasks related to the work location or department.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work primarily occurs in an office setting with low to moderate noise levels and varying lighting conditions.
- The work environment is fast-paced and may involve tight deadlines.
- Collaboration and teamwork with staff and external clients are essential.
