Job Overview
We are looking for a committed Customer Service Representative to support our operations. This role involves managing all tasks and communications related to the intake of patient information concerning durable medical equipment and respiratory products. You will interact with patients, colleagues, and referral sources regarding patient services and third-party reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in updating respiratory data grids.
  • Review previous day’s routes and ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Engage with patients and referral sources through verbal and written communication to address inquiries and concerns promptly.
  • Complete Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Certificates of Medical Necessity (CMNs), documenting on tracking logs.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures to comply with JCAHO and company standards.
  • Coordinate patient information, process paperwork for the Billing Department, and prepare batch reports for deliveries.
  • Maintain a referral log.
  • Monitor and manage office supplies.
  • Prepare weekly deposits for the location.
  • Generate invoices for upcoming routes.
  • Process documentation, confirm tickets, input new patient setups, and organize charts.
  • Provide assistance for all retail and walk-in equipment requests.
  • Offer technical support to customers.
  • Verify coverage information for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to resolve customer issues.
  • May be required to cover on-call duties, operate a company vehicle, and deliver to patients' homes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Employment Requirements
  • Successful completion of a background investigation.
  • Pass a drug screening.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with medical equipment and terminology is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical billing practices and reimbursement processes is preferred.
  • Background in the medical field and administrative record management is preferred.
  • At least one year of relevant work experience is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to interpret various forms of communication (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening, and visual).
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Demonstrate multi-tasking abilities with attention to detail.
  • Exhibit self-motivation, organizational skills, time management, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and transport patient equipment (minimum of 35 pounds).
  • May require on-call coverage, driving a company vehicle, and delivering to patients' homes.
  • Contact with patients and equipment may involve exposure to contagious pathogens.
  • Involves sitting, walking, standing, talking, and listening.
