Responsibilities
  • Accurately and completely report and document patient status, care rendered, and provider orders.
  • Refill medications according to ARC protocols.
  • Accurately and completely room patients, take and document vital signs, and prepare patients for provider exams.
  • Follow clinic protocols and directions given by nursing team leaders or supervisors.
  • Perform diagnostic testing, including EKGs, audiograms, tympanograms, spirometry, and visual screenings, with reporting and documentation as appropriate.
  • Monitor inventory of medical and office supplies and equipment, ensuring units and rooms are properly stocked and supplies are current and not expired.
  • Order supplies as needed.
  • Review provider refill requests and assist with daily medication refill requests using the ARC refill protocol.
  • Review EPIC triage call-in baskets for callbacks.
  • Clean patient rooms as needed, including proper handling of dirty laundry.
  • Ensure laundry carts are stocked with fresh linens daily.
  • May assist providers with sigmoidoscopy exams and cardiac stress testing by setting up equipment, assisting with patient preparation, and cleaning and storing equipment after exams.
  • Report and document appropriately.
  • Maintain equipment, including autoclaves, sterilizers, and speculums, and check expiration dates.
  • Adhere to all company policies, including OSHA, HIPAA, compliance, and Code of Conduct.
  • Regular and dependable attendance.
  • Follow core competencies set forth by the Company, available for review on CMSweb.
  • Work holiday shifts as required by Company policy.
QualificationsLVN:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, graduation from an accredited school of vocational nursing.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an ambulatory or acute care setting preferred.
  • Required Certificate/License: Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the State of Texas and current AHA-approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card required.

Staff Medical Assistant:
  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Required to meet one of the following:
    • Medical Assistant experience.
    • CNA/EMT/PCT (or other comparable experience) providing direct patient care, beyond Activities of Daily Living, including experience taking manual vitals and giving medications and/or injections.
    • Graduate of a medical assistant program.
  • Preferred:
    • Six (6) months or more experience as a Medical Assistant.
    • Certificate/License:
      • Medical Assistant certification preferred.
      • Current AHA-approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card or within 60 days of hire required.
    • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
      • Ability to administer medications and injections within the scope of position within 90 days of hire.
      • Knowledge of medical terminology.
      • Excellent organizational skills.
      • Excellent phone listening skills.
      • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
      • Excellent customer service skills.
