We are seeking a highly skilled Subsystem Operations and Integration Engineer III to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our New Glenn Program, you will play a critical role in the development and operations of our single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the launch vehicle, ground equipment, and personnel are ready for operation for all phases of the New Glenn Stage 1 mission.
- Author operations documents that define product testing requirements, operations lifecycle, maintenance requirements, and critical performance/requirements interfaces across the system.
- Serve as primary subsystem engineering/technical POC for systems engineering and systems safety artifacts.
- Provide operational feedback to subsystem designers and support operational analysis.
- Lead design integration trade studies considering vehicle operations through all phases of the mission.
- Provide program support to the chief engineer office for delegated engineering change requests, design review actions, performance metrics/assessment, and technical risk management.
- Document and manage critical performance, operational requirements, and requirements interfaces across the system.
- Support development of coordinated operational software, including those used for Built-In-Tests, Propellant Loading, Terminal Count, Flight, Landing, and Post-Flight Recovery.
- Support integrated functional teams to define operations for all phases of the New Glenn Stage 1 mission.
- Provide real-time support to coordinated tests and launch operations.
- Review and approve operating requirements across subsystems.
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or another technical field.
- 6+ years of proven experience.
- Experience with system engineering principles.
- Experience in at least one of the areas of analysis, design, or integrated testing.
- Experience in at least one of the focused subject areas of fluids, thermal, propulsion, avionics or electrical hardware and/or software, telemetry/communications, structures, ground operations, or flight/ground autonomy.
- Possess skills in strategic system thinking, excellent written and oral communication skills, and proactive in moving the program forward through team teamworks to achieve timely decisions.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive culture.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Launch vehicle experience, and experience with propulsion, fluids, mechanical systems, and structures/tanks a plus.
- System development/integration experience, preferably with aerospace hardware.
- Knowledge of current systems engineering and integration tools and methodologies.
- Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS Next Gen.
- Experience in reliability, maintainability, and operability analysis and execution.
We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $120,060.00-$168,084.00, depending on location. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
