Space Operations Specialist

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Space Operations Specialist, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our space vehicles and systems.

This is a hands-on position that requires strong communication, organization, planning, and project management skills. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate the availability and controlled flow of materials and services to meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate manufacturing schedules and coordinate material availability
  • Perform shop order release/closure in MRP System and reconcile parts
  • Provide detailed status of work in progress and communicate constraints to schedule
  • Prepare work orders for the production of parts based on master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements
  • Coordinate interdepartmental activity with warehouse, inspection, quality, operations, purchasing, engineering, logistics, and program

Requirements:

  • 1+ years supply chain experience
  • Experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)
  • Experience with activities related to planning and/or scheduling
  • Experience working with a cross-functional team
  • Excellent computer skills with MS Office, ERP experience with MRP execution desired
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates understanding and ability to apply continuous improvement terminology/tools: LEAN, Six Sigma principles/DFSS/Lean design principles, Value Stream, and Kaizen
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree
  • Flexible to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends, and travel on occasion
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Ability to handle multiple decisions based on workload dispersion, program priorities, and management and customer decisions
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math and analytical skills to solve problems
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
